Guadalupe County was established by the Texas Legislature on March 30, 1846 and is named after the river that runs through it. The county seat is historic Seguin. Other towns in the county include: Cibolo, Marion, McQueeney, Geronimo, New Berlin, and Schertz. This south central Texas county is rich in heritage and diversity. The Extension Program, directed by the Extension Program Council, strives to serve a population who derives its main income from a mix of agriculture, industry and small business. Recreation in the county includes river activities, rodeos, hunting, fishing and many other community events. Guadalupe county is concentrating on growing a strong educational system and economy that will prepare its citizens and children for the 21st century.

Mission: To provide quality, relevant outreach and continuing education programs and services to the residents of Guadalupe County.

Extension brings resources of the Texas A&M System to the county. Through field based faculty, Extension provides unbiased, research-based information, education programs, and technical assistance in the areas of agriculture, family and consumer science, and youth development. 4-H has been going on in Guadalupe County for at least 75 years and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon!!
